"If you cannot measure it, you cannot improve it."
- Lord Kelvin
Ed Lu (rlt 80) and a team of engineers at Google have developed the prototype of a new device that can closely measure the amount of electrity used in various household activities.
Part of the objective of the PowerMeter project is to provide a manner for consumers to monitor and then adjust their own use of electricty.

William Brantly ('93), poet
"Some of you know that I've been writing on and off for 15 years and after a lot of back and forth about releasing something, I finally decided to put a book of poetry out to check off one of those boxes on life's to do list. It's about half of what I've written and perhaps someday I'll take a look at the rest or start again, but I felt this was a good point to do something a little more formal.
I ended up self-publishing it through a website called Create Space. It's available online at the following sites and I listed it for $14.99. I recently re-did the cover so it should reflect the new version in a week or so, but you can still order if you're interested.
I'm putting myself out there a bit so please be gentle in your reviews on
Amazon. :)) Feel free to forward the info. above to any friends that I
missed as well as your contacts too bc I've just started the engine on the
marketing machine and if I have time and based on the amount of positive
response, I'll probably market it a bit more. Ofcourse that's not my primary
reason for putting a book out, but who knows, maybe I can quit my day job
one day! :))
I hope everyone enjoys it bc I've put a lot into it and I know it's not perfectly formatted or perfectly written, but it's meant to capture a point in time and put out that sort of vibe."

The poop on Dr. T's Big Idea
Dr. Mike Thomann (rlt'82) has never been one to follow convention. Rather than setting up his veterinary practice in a traditional brick and mortar office building, Dr. Thomann took his practice out on the road via a modified Coachmen RV. Since 1994, Mike has been well known in the Charlotte, North Carolina area as the Mobile Vet.
While some would be content with a successful veterinary practice, Dr. Thomann is taking his interest in pets national with the introduction of his line of lighted pooper scoopers.
Yes, Dr. Thomann has a new web site, Ka Ka King and his S3 Sanitation Safety Sticks is coming to a store near you.
One has to wonder what twin brother, Mark might think of potentially being mistaken for the Ka Ka King.

Hello class of 99,
We are trying to plan our 10 year reunion. We have chosen Thanksgiving Weekend 2009 (Saturday, November 28), as our date! It will be held somewhere in the Webster/Rochester area. Specific venues haven't been narrowed down just yet.
We are trying to get a preliminary count of those planning on attending. (If you are bringing a date, please specify by responding that 2 people will be attending)
Please send me a message at, reunionwhs@gmail.com
A 'Yes or No' answer is
just fine!! :) And if you have already responded, I'd like to thank you for
your support.
Also, PLEASE pass this information on to other class members, so that we can try to reach, as many people as possible. Currently, I only have contact information for about 140 classmates, altogether we graduate with over 550 classmates. SO WE COULD REALLY USE YOUR HELP!
I hope everyone is doing good!
Thank you, Reunion Committee
